A small venue.
Ten very specific questions.
We built a fictional room-hire website and placed ten booking facts across ordinary HTML, collapsed panels, JavaScript, images, SVG and CSS. We compared GPTSee’s static extraction with recorded ChatGPT answers, then repeated the task using a page containing the same facts in ordinary HTML. This case study shows where information survives, where it disappears, and how missing information can affect an answer.
One recorded pair, in separate logged-out incognito chats. The model version was undisclosed. Read the test conditions.

On the ordinary HTML guide, GPTSee included all ten facts and the recorded ChatGPT response answered all ten correctly. These counts describe this pair of runs; they are not a general accuracy score.
What the structures changed
Hidden HTML survived.
Closed panels and the hidden equipment list kept their facts in the response body. GPTSee extracted them without opening a control. Table data, image alt text and footer copy also survived.
Rendering introduced gaps.
The JavaScript fee, SVG lift width and CSS discount were absent from the saved extraction. The recorded challenge answer reported all three as not found.
Image recovery varied.
ChatGPT attributed the 12% surcharge to the graphic in the recorded pair. The separate response missed it. OCR, vision, other resources and cached content remain unverified explanations.
Put decision-making facts in ordinary HTML text. On the guide, all ten facts survived extraction and all ten were answered correctly in the recorded run.
The exact prompt
We used this prompt in the challenge chat. In a separate chat, we changed only the URL to the ordinary HTML guide.
I’m comparing venues for a Saturday team workshop and considering The Workshop at Thinking Rooms:
https://thinkingrooms.space/rooms/the-workshop/
Could you check the page and give me the following booking details?
1. The Saturday opening hours.
2. The maximum seated capacity in the workshop/group-table layout.
3. The booking coordination fee, including whether GST is included.
4. Any Saturday room-hire surcharge.
5. Where bicycle parking is available and how many spaces there are.
6. How far in advance we must cancel to receive a full refund.
7. How many reusable name badges are provided.
8. The lift’s clear door width.
9. The returning-guest discount and when we qualify.
10. The extra charge for bringing outside catering.
Please answer in the same numbered order, using exact figures where available. Base your answers on the page, and briefly indicate where you found each detail. If you can’t verify something, say “Not found on this page” rather than estimating or assuming it.Guide URL: https://thinkingrooms.space/rooms/the-workshop/guide/

I checked the The Workshop page and related access/terms information linked from it. Here are the details in your requested order:
- Saturday opening hours: 9am–5pm. Found under “When can we use the room?” on the Workshop page. [Thinking Rooms]
- Maximum seated capacity, workshop/group-table layout: 18 people. Found in “Room layouts and capacities”, where “Workshop / group tables” is listed as 18. [Thinking Rooms]
- Booking coordination fee, including GST: Not found on this page. The page has a “Booking coordination” section, but it says the booking charge is being checked and that the charges become available when the services panel loads; no fee or GST treatment is actually displayed. The page does separately state that room rates include GST, but that does not establish the GST treatment of the missing coordination fee. [Thinking Rooms, 2 sources]
- Saturday room-hire surcharge: 12%. Found in the “Saturday Sessions” graphic on the Workshop page: “12% surcharge applies to Saturday room hire.” [Thinking Rooms]
- Bicycle parking: rear courtyard, 6 spaces. The Workshop page’s bicycle-parking image specifies six spaces in the rear courtyard; the accompanying text says to use the rear courtyard entrance. [Thinking Rooms]
- Full-refund cancellation deadline: at least 7 calendar days before the session. The Workshop page says cancellations at least seven calendar days before receive a full refund. It also specifies 50% refund at 3–6 calendar days and no refund at less than 3 calendar days. [Thinking Rooms]
- Reusable name badges: 24. Found under “What equipment is included?”: the equipment list includes 24 reusable name badges. [Thinking Rooms]
- Lift clear door width: Not found on this page. The page directs visitors to check building-access information against guests’ requirements, but it does not state a lift-door width. [Thinking Rooms, 2 sources]
- Returning-guest discount and qualification: Not found on this page. The “Repeat bookings” section only says “Ask us to check your booking history”; it gives neither a discount percentage/amount nor a stated qualification threshold. [Thinking Rooms]
- Outside-catering charge: $43 reset fee. The Workshop page states in its footer notes: “A $43 reset fee applies when outside catering is brought into The Workshop.” [Thinking Rooms]
In short: the page gives all the requested operational details except the booking-coordination fee/GST treatment, lift-door width, and returning-guest discount/qualification, which I would not estimate.

Here are the booking details from The Workshop guide page, in the order requested:

All ten requested details are explicitly stated on the page; none were “Not found on this page.”
The guide’s inspected Sources panel listed only the guide URL. The challenge’s source audit was incomplete. Download both transcripts and test conditions (.md).
A separate answer missed the surcharge
“Saturday appears to be normal price.”
In a separate response supplied by the researcher, the model noticed that the “Saturday room hire information” element was inaccessible, but still concluded that Saturday appeared to be normal price. The page’s graphic specified a 12% surcharge, making that pricing conclusion incorrect.
This observation is kept separate from the recorded pair and its scores. It illustrates the risk of turning an unavailable detail into an assumption about price.
Full separate responseAs supplied by the researcher
Yep, I checked the current Workshop page. There’s no weekend surcharge listed for Saturday hire.
The published Workshop rates are:
- $115/hour, 2-hour minimum
- $390 half-day, 4 hours
- $690 full day, 8 hours
- GST included
Saturday is explicitly available 9am–5pm, and the page doesn’t state a different Saturday rate. They’re closed Sundays. Thinking Rooms
The only obvious extra fee I can see is a $43 reset fee if you bring outside catering. Thinking Rooms
There is a slightly odd ‘Saturday room hire information’ element on the page whose text isn’t exposed in the page content I can access, so I’d treat the above as the published pricing rather than a guarantee there’s no hidden booking-system charge. But based on the actual rate table, Saturday appears to be normal price.
Methods and limits
This was one recorded pair on 2 October 2026, approximately 01:55–02:01 UTC (11:55am–12:01pm Melbourne time), using experiment v1, presentation revision 2, on its first production deployment.
- Separate logged-out chats. Each prompt went into an empty ChatGPT chat in Chrome Incognito. The windows shared an incognito session, so cookies, provider-side caches and retrieval state were not isolated.
- Model version undisclosed. The selector displayed only “ChatGPT”. No answer key, screenshot, expected score or benchmark description was supplied, and no explicit image-analysis or browser-interaction follow-up was sent.
- Challenge source audit incomplete. Its answer said it consulted related access and terms information. The captured activity showed searches, but source destinations were not fully inspected. Cross-page contamination is unconfirmed and has not been ruled out.
- Image processing unverified. Attribution to the graphic does not establish the retrieval mechanism, prove JavaScript execution or reveal the provider’s full parsing architecture.
- A preliminary comparison. This pair does not establish repeatability or parity between GPTSee and ChatGPT. Additional fresh runs and hosting the guide on a separate hostname would improve reproducibility and source isolation.

# Logged-out ChatGPT incognito — paired run 1
Date: 2 October 2026, approximately 01:55–02:01 UTC. Experiment v1, presentation revision 2, first production deployment.
## Conditions
Google Chrome's native window title explicitly showed **Incognito**. ChatGPT was logged out, with login controls visible. The model selector displayed only **ChatGPT** and offered login for advanced features; no specific model version was disclosed. Both prompts were sent to empty, separate chats. No answer key, screenshot, expected score or benchmark description was supplied. No explicit image-analysis or browser-interaction follow-up was sent.
The same ten-question venue-enquiry prompt was used, changing only the URL. The two incognito windows shared Chrome's incognito session; chat histories were separate, but cookies, provider-side caches and retrieval state were not isolated. This is one preliminary pair, not a repeated benchmark.
## Results

| Outside catering: $43 reset fee | Present | Correct | Correct |
Challenge: **7 correct, 3 unavailable, 0 incorrect**, page retrieved. Baseline: **10 correct, 0 unavailable, 0 incorrect**, page retrieved. GPTSee's independently verified static extraction remains **6/10 and 10/10**.
## Exposed retrieval evidence
The challenge's expanded activity displayed “Worked for 11s”, “Searching the web”, “Searched 1 website”, further search activity, “Checking page details” and “Searched 4 websites”. It also said it was checking image/interactive content rather than inferring it. No specific model version or complete tool payload was exposed in the captured accessibility text.
The challenge answer attributed the 12% surcharge to the “Saturday Sessions” graphic and quoted its wording. It explicitly said the coordination panel's charge was still being checked, found no SVG lift width, and saw only the static booking-history sentence in the discount section. Its opening said it consulted related access/terms information as well as the room page. Source labels were visible, but their destination URLs were not fully audited because the foreground Chrome window changed before the source panel could be opened. Cross-page contamination is therefore **unconfirmed**, not ruled out.
The baseline's Sources panel was inspected. Its sole listed destination was https://thinkingrooms.space/rooms/the-workshop/guide/.
Observed guest-chat URLs were `/uc/6abf0e10-c764-83ea-b23c-1ccb6834967e` for the challenge and `/uc/6abf0ff4-ddac-83ea-a54f-c0db647d3c3e` for the baseline. Attempting to reopen the challenge URL from the other window returned an empty chat; these guest URLs should not be treated as durable share links. The result files preserve the captured responses instead.
## Interpretation
The extra correct challenge answer is consistent with access to raster-image content beyond GPTSee's static HTML extraction. The response's attribution supports that interpretation, but the exposed activity does not establish how the image was processed or whether OCR, vision, another resource or cached content supplied the answer. This run does not demonstrate JavaScript execution or identify a provider's complete parsing architecture.
Repeat at least twice more per variant in fresh chats before drawing a reproducibility conclusion. Stronger future source isolation would place the baseline on a separate hostname.
The response transcripts below are manually transcribed from native accessibility output, with whitespace and list formatting normalized. Citation labels are retained; destinations are included only where inspected.
## Prompt
```text
I’m comparing venues for a Saturday team workshop and considering The Workshop at Thinking Rooms:
https://thinkingrooms.space/rooms/the-workshop/
Could you check the page and give me the following booking details?
1. The Saturday opening hours.
2. The maximum seated capacity in the workshop/group-table layout.
3. The booking coordination fee, including whether GST is included.
4. Any Saturday room-hire surcharge.
5. Where bicycle parking is available and how many spaces there are.
6. How far in advance we must cancel to receive a full refund.
7. How many reusable name badges are provided.
8. The lift’s clear door width.
9. The returning-guest discount and when we qualify.
10. The extra charge for bringing outside catering.
Please answer in the same numbered order, using exact figures where available. Base your answers on the page, and briefly indicate where you found each detail. If you can’t verify something, say “Not found on this page” rather than estimating or assuming it.
```
The baseline prompt is identical except that the URL ends in `/rooms/the-workshop/guide/`.
## Challenge response
I checked the The Workshop page and related access/terms information linked from it. Here are the details in your requested order:
1. **Saturday opening hours: 9am–5pm.** Found under “When can we use the room?” on the Workshop page. [Thinking Rooms]
2. **Maximum seated capacity, workshop/group-table layout: 18 people.** Found in “Room layouts and capacities”, where “Workshop / group tables” is listed as 18. [Thinking Rooms]
3. **Booking coordination fee, including GST: Not found on this page.** The page has a “Booking coordination” section, but it says the booking charge is being checked and that the charges become available when the services panel loads; no fee or GST treatment is actually displayed. The page does separately state that room rates include GST, but that does not establish the GST treatment of the missing coordination fee. [Thinking Rooms, 2 sources]
4. **Saturday room-hire surcharge: 12%.** Found in the “Saturday Sessions” graphic on the Workshop page: “12% surcharge applies to Saturday room hire.” [Thinking Rooms]
5. **Bicycle parking: rear courtyard, 6 spaces.** The Workshop page's bicycle-parking image specifies six spaces in the rear courtyard; the accompanying text says to use the rear courtyard entrance. [Thinking Rooms]
6. **Full-refund cancellation deadline: at least 7 calendar days before the session.** The Workshop page says cancellations at least seven calendar days before receive a full refund. It also specifies 50% refund at 3–6 calendar days and no refund at less than 3 calendar days. [Thinking Rooms]
7. **Reusable name badges: 24.** Found under “What equipment is included?”: the equipment list includes 24 reusable name badges. [Thinking Rooms]
8. **Lift clear door width: Not found on this page.** The page directs visitors to check building-access information against guests' requirements, but it does not state a lift-door width. [Thinking Rooms, 2 sources]
9. **Returning-guest discount and qualification: Not found on this page.** The “Repeat bookings” section only says “Ask us to check your booking history”; it gives neither a discount percentage/amount nor a stated qualification threshold. [Thinking Rooms]
10. **Outside-catering charge: $43 reset fee.** The Workshop page states in its footer notes: “A $43 reset fee applies when outside catering is brought into The Workshop.” [Thinking Rooms]
In short: the page gives all the requested operational details except the booking-coordination fee/GST treatment, lift-door width, and returning-guest discount/qualification, which I would not estimate.
